Elite IB Physics, Chemistry & Maths Tuition — Online & in London

Waseem, IB Physics, Chemistry and Maths tutor

Three decades of teaching. One focus: IB success.

For nearly thirty years I have taught Physics, Chemistry and Maths to IB students across the UK, the UAE and online — guiding ambitious learners towards the grades that open doors. My approach is calm, rigorous and completely tailored to each student, because the difference between a 5 and a 7 is rarely about ability. It’s about the right teaching.

As an RSS Fellow and Certified Educator, with training from Cambridge, Harvard, MIT and IBM, I bring the depth of a specialist and the patience of a teacher who has seen every stumbling block before. Over the years I have taught IB students from across the world — including the USA, Canada, Australia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Germany, India and Singapore — both directly and through leading tutoring agencies, preparing them for the IB Diploma with confidence.

Specialist one-to-one IB tuition

IB Physics Tuition

From mechanics to quantum, HL and SL — building the intuition and exam technique that turn a difficult subject into a reliable 7.

IB Chemistry Tuition

Organic, physical and inorganic chemistry made clear, with the structured problem-solving IB examiners reward.

IB Maths Tuition

Analysis & Approaches or Applications & Interpretation, HL and SL — mastering the concepts and the calculator alike.

More than teaching: exam-period strategy

Top grades are not won by knowledge alone. In the final weeks, the IB exam timetable itself becomes a factor — papers scheduled back-to-back, two subjects in a single day, occasionally three. I have seen capable students who scored 6s and 7s throughout and also in mocks, yet slip to a 5 in the real exams, not for lack of ability, but because no one planned how and when to revise around that timetable.

Drawing on thirty years of experience, I build each student a tailored exam-period plan: what to review, in what order, and when — so that energy and preparation peak on the days that matter most. It is a small edge that repeatedly proves decisive.

How it works

Consultation

We start with a short, relaxed conversation — the student’s current grades, their target, the subjects and levels involved, and the exam session ahead. It’s also where we make sure I’m the right fit.

Tailored Plan

From there we build a plan around what actually matters — reinforcing the fundamentals while keeping pace with current class topics. Students start participating actively in class, and by the next assessment the improvement is visible to parents and school alike.

Measured Progress

We practise topic-by-topic with past papers and extra questions from the official IB Question Bank, so every session is anchored to exactly what the exams demand — and improvement is something you can see and measure, not simply hope for.

Why families choose iBLaurel

Depth, not just drill

Physics, Chemistry and Maths are my specialism. I build real understanding and a genuine appetite to excel, which is what dependable top grades are built on.

Bespoke one-to-one teaching

Every session is taught by me, never passed to a junior tutor, and built around one student rather than a class or a template.

Answering for the marks

Top grades come from writing correctly, completely and concisely: matching each point to the marks on offer, using the right terminology and the correct significant figures. I teach students exactly how examiners award marks.

A global track record

Over thirty years I have prepared IB students across the UK, Europe, the Gulf and beyond, many of them through leading tutoring agencies.

Why my capacity is limited

The measure of good tuition is simple: students who understand more, work with more confidence, and walk into the exam hall knowing they are ready. Over three decades, that is the outcome I have built for IB students preparing for the Diploma.

Because I teach one to one and hold each student to real, visible improvement, my capacity is limited, with only a handful of IB places open at any time. That focus is what lets me shape a programme entirely around a student’s goals. If it is the kind of attention you are looking for, I would be glad to talk.
